Within the first hour or so walking around Paris, Sebastian and I wound up in the Luxembourg Gardens. This is a park with people jogging and having picnics and feeding ducks and doing normal park stuff. The building here is centuries old and now houses the French Senate. There are statues of all the queens of France throughout the park (some visible on the right). This is where I decided that fully photographing Paris was the photo-tourism equivalent of trying to eat the 96er: You'll probably fail and if you win you'll probably be miserable. I made a conscious effort to only photograph stuff that was personal or weird from here on out (not always successful).
